DJI Launch the Smart Controller at CES2019. The DJI Smart Controller uses the new OcuSync 2.0 video transmission system, which will work with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro & Mavic Zoom Drones.
DJI have promised future compatibility with the DJI Mavic Enterprise range and the DJI Pilot App.
DJI Smart Controller Specs.
The DJI Smart Controller uses a crisp 5.5” screen built into the controller itself. This allows drone flyers to get in the air without using a separate mobile device.
The display has full HD resolution in a compact, highly portable design that DJI claim can be used in direct sunlight.
DJI Smart Controller ultra-bright display with visual output of 1000 cd/m2, is twice the brightness of a standard smart phone.
Android based unit will support DJI GO 4, DJI Pilot (soon) and other third-party apps. SkyTalk, a new feature that allows pilots to livestream the drone’s camera feed to social channels.
DJI say the Smart Controller has a 2.5 hours of battery life, with the ability to operate in temperatures from 5°C to 40°C.
The launch price of the DJI Smart Controller is £579.00 ($649USD). At just under half the cost of a new Mavic Zoom, the DJI Smart Controller needs to be amazing.
Many DJI die-hards have seen the need for a separate displays as one of DJI’s strengths. To launch an all-in-one control product is a brave move.
